Cherry Baked Apples for Two

by Permanent Posies on October 24, 2011

Thanks for stopping by.

I just had to try my hand at baking some apples.  It is fall, after all.  I adapted this recipe from one I saw on the show Hungry Girl.  YUMMY!

Baked Apples

1/4 cup cola (regular or diet)
2 apples, cored
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp cherry juice from jar of Maraschino cherries
2 tsp Smart Balance
4 Maraschino cherries

Core the apples and place them in a small loaf pan.  Pour the cola on top and around them.  Put 1 tsp of the Smart Balance in each apple center and two cheeries in each.  Drizzle the cherry juice on the apples and sprinkle the brown sugar on top.

Cook for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.  Top with canned whipped cream.

Here are a few rules for joining your post to our blog party, Tuesday’s Tasty Tidbits.  First, please link back somewhere on your blog.  This is a must.  Second, check out some of the other bloggers that enter this party.  Try to visit the one before and the one after your post, at least.  Sometimes that is easier said than done, I realize.  Please link up directly to your post and not your home page.

Please feel free to post anything creative in this party.  I don’t care if it is a recipe or a craft etc., just make sure it is somehow about food…..however remotely.

Last week, my linky was messed up for part of the week and I am afraid it might have hindered you.  Sorry about that.  I have it fixed this week….hopefully.  I am planning to join several blog parties again….and I add more each week.  I hope you will check some of them out, if you get a chance.
